Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities

From http://whitman.syr.edu/ebv/:

The EBV program represents a unique opportunity for those men and women who have sacrificed for our freedom, to take an important step toward realizing their own freedom – economic freedom – through entrepreneurship.

The EBV program is a selective, rigorous, and intense educational initiative. The program is offered by a consortium of schools that includes Syracuse University, Florida State University, University of California, Los Angeles, Texas A&M University, Purdue University, and University of Connecticut. Applications for EBV will be accepted from veterans who:

  • Have separated from active duty service after 2001 (or currently in the administrative process of separating)
  • Have been identified as having a ‘service-connected disability’ as a result of their military service (including activated National Guard and Reserves)
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in entrepreneurship & small business ownership/management

Beyond the criteria identified above, a complete application is the only remaining requirement to be considered for the program. A complete application package will include the following:

  1. Completed EBV Application Form, found on the website (including responses to personal statement #1-6)
  2. Résumé
  3. 2 Letters of Recommendation

Selection will be based on the ‘whole-person’ concept, with a particular focus on an assessment of potential to excel both in the program, and also excel upon graduating from the EBV in the area of entrepreneurship and small business management.

PLEASE NOTE: The percentage of your disability is not a factor in determining your acceptance into the EBV program. You will need to send your resume and two letters of recommendations seperately within two weeks.

2011 EBV Program Dates remaining:

  • UConn: September 23 - October 1
  • LSU: February 25 - March 4
